An interview with Revital Esposito, Senior Manager Global HR Technology and Digitalisation, Capri Sun Group

For Capri Sun, simplicity is more than a brand value. It's a philosophy that guides how the company operates, grows, and supports its employees. As a global beverage manufacturer serving consumers in more than 100 countries, the organisation depends on consistent processes, accurate data, and scalable technologies to support its workforce across multiple countries and production sites.

At the centre of that strategy is Workday. Since going live with Workday in 2023, Capri Sun has been focused on building a globally standardised HR platform capable of supporting both local requirements and enterprise-wide workforce insights. Working alongside Strada through ongoing AMS and project support, the company continues to evolve its Workday ecosystem while preparing future initiatives in workforce planning, time tracking, scheduling, and AI-enabled services.

How has Capri Sun continued to evolve its Workday ecosystem after go-live to support future local and enterprise-wide workforce initiatives?

Building a global HR model providing consistency without sacrificing simplicity

Operating across multiple countries presents a unique challenge for any HR organisation. Every country has its own regulatory requirements, labour rules, and ways of working. Yet business leaders still need consistent data, standardised processes, and visibility across the enterprise.

For Revital, the challenge has been finding the right balance between local flexibility and global consistency.

“One of the values we really try to live by at Capri Sun is simplicity. We want global processes that work across all locations, while still accommodating the local requirements that matter. The challenge is finding that balance without overcomplicating the solution.”

Workday has become the foundation that allows Capri Sun to maintain that balance. By creating standardised processes across countries while still supporting country-specific requirements, the platform helps HR teams operate more consistently and efficiently.

Focusing on improving data quality through rethinking manual processes as the foundation for growth

When Revital joined Capri Sun in 2024, Workday was already live. However, one challenge quickly surfaced, data quality. Much of the workforce data was still being maintained through manual processes, creating unnecessary workload for HR teams and limiting confidence in reporting and analytics.

To address this, the team focused on:

  • expanding self-service capabilities
  • increasing local HR ownership of data
  • introducing stronger validation controls
  • implementing data quality dashboards
  • measuring quality at the country level

The results went beyond improved governance. By increasing trust in the data, HR was able to support broader business priorities such as reporting, workforce planning, and executive decision-making.

“Workday gave us the opportunity to build a trusted foundation for our HR data. We focused first on improving data quality because without reliable data, employees, managers, and executives cannot confidently use analytics, workforce planning, or reporting to make decisions.”

Using enablement training and satisfaction tracking to create consistent user experience across Workday

As Capri Sun expanded its Workday footprint, another priority emerged: creating a simple and intuitive experience for employees and managers.

One of Workday's advantages has been its ability to provide a consistent experience across multiple modules, whether users are engaging in tasks such as:

  • Managing absence requests
  • Reviewing goals
  • Accessing learning content
  • Viewing team information

For employees, this reduces the need for extensive training. For HR teams, it helps accelerate adoption and minimise support requirements.

To further improve engagement, Capri Sun recently introduced Workday onboarding videos in multiple languages and established recurring user enablement sessions for both employees and managers. The organisation also conducts an annual Workday satisfaction survey, helping identify areas for improvement and prioritise future enhancements.

A partnership built on consistency, trust, and expertise

When Revital Esposito joined Capri Sun Group, the statement of work had already been signed, but the project had not yet begun. She stepped in to lead the initiative from kickoff through go-live, working closely with the Strada team to navigate evolving business requirements. As the project progressed, it became clear that some of the original assumptions no longer reflected Capri Sun's operational needs. What stood out was Strada's willingness to adapt, working collaboratively with the team to adjust the scope, address integration challenges, and ensure the project continued to deliver the outcomes Capri Sun was aiming to achieve.

“What impressed me most was how customer-focused Strada is. They were genuinely invested in the success of the project, not just delivering against a statement of work. The team consistently helped us find solutions, adapt when requirements changed, and move the project forward.”

Through AMS and project services, Strada has become an extension of Capri Sun's HR technology team, supporting everything from integrations and platform enhancements to Adaptive Planning initiatives and strategic optimisation efforts. As the partnership has evolved, continuity has played an important role in Capri Sun's success. By working with the same consultants over time, the team has developed a deep understanding of Capri Sun's business, decisions, and operating model, reducing knowledge-transfer effort and helping projects move forward more efficiently.

Unlocking workforce insights through unifying planning and analytics into a single platform

As Workday adoption has matured, Capri Sun has shifted its focus from operational efficiency to business insights.

One recent initiative involved connecting Adaptive Planning data with Workday, allowing executives to compare workforce plans against actual data directly within the Workday experience. This creates stronger visibility into workforce trends and enables better-informed workforce planning discussions.

By combining planning, reporting, and operational data into a single environment, the HR team is helping leaders gain a clearer understanding of workforce dynamics and future resource needs.

How Capri Sun is looking to explore AI in future Workforce planning, time tracking, and recruitment

Capri Sun's key HR priorities over the next several years include deploying:

  • Workday Time Tracking
  • Workday Scheduling
  • Workforce Planning
  • Expanded Adaptive Planning capabilities
  • AI-enabled HR processes and experiences

For Revital, AI represents both an opportunity and a responsibility. Success depends not only on the technology itself but on strong foundations in governance, process design, and data quality.

The organisation is already identifying areas where AI can help reduce administrative workload, improve recruitment processes, and support decision-making.

However, Capri Sun's approach remains pragmatic.

“AI is always built on top of what you already have. If your processes and data aren't ready, AI won't solve those issues. That's why we're focused on getting the foundations right first.”

Advice for peers on a similar journey

Looking back, Revital's advice is straightforward.

“Everything you implement should be built with reporting and future use in mind. And above all, keep it simple. If you overcomplicate things, you'll spend all your time maintaining the system rather than moving the business forward.”

For Capri Sun, Workday has become much more than an HR platform. It is now a critical enabler of data quality, workforce visibility, standardisation, and future innovation, helping the organisation support growth while staying true to its core principle of simplicity.
